Push Play: DIY Youth Media Storytelling Presented by the Community Mixtape Project The Community Mixtape Project harnesses the power of media and technology-based arts education to amplify the individual and collective stories of Pittsburgh-area youth. Through our workshops, youth learn digital music-making, creative writing, podcasting, and zine-making skills and use these skills to create shareable media that reflects their own experiences, interests, and creativity.

Graduate students in the new Emerging Media interdisciplinary program at Carnegie Mellon present original works of art and technology. Pieces shown include a computational reimagining of international borders; a comic book about the social implications of ubiquitous computing; a machine that makes drawings based on a visitor's pulse; a web-based generative short story creation system; and an interactive piece for two which uses finger touches to map out a visitor's face.
